Abstract:
The thesis demonstrates through historical narrative that technical and further education (TAFE) in Victoria was constructed over the period 1945-1985 (with a further period considered briefly to 1992) as an outcome of contesting discursive and institutional formations proffered by a range of state and federal vested interests.
