In April 1988 an Aboriginal Education Policy Task Force was appointed by the then Minister for Employment, Education and Training, and the then Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, to advise on all aspects of Aboriginal education in Australia, assess the findings of recent research and policy reports, and prepare priorities for the funding of existing programs and new initiatives.
