New framework for vocational education in schools: a comprehensive guide about pathways for young Australians in transition: policy directions

This document provides a new framework for vocational education and training in schools (VET in schools) that has been developed by the MCEETYA Taskforce on VET in Schools (report indexed at TD/ERD 87.57), consistent with the recommendations of the Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA). The new framework has six elements: vocational education and training; enterprise and vocational learning; student support services; community and business partnerships; effective institutional and funding arrangements; monitoring and evaluation. This document provides a comprehensive explanation of the new framework and is designed to assist a range of stakeholders.
