Abstract:

The interrelationship of the Australian Vocational Training System (AVTS) and the Modern Australian Apprenticeship and Traineeship Scheme (MAATS) is explained. Reference also is made to the Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA) Taskforce on MAATS in Schools. Emphasised are the specific, intended outcomes of MAATS and the ideals behind its development.
