This study explored retention in apprenticeships and traineeships and the factors that influence this process. The objectives of this research were to identify and describe factors that underlie the process of retention, analyse those most amenable to change and examine a number of interventions that could be used to enhance retention and contribute to increased completion of apprenticeships and traineeships.
