Diversity in Australia's agricultural workforce

This information sheet has been developed to inform policy and decision makers about the diverse people and communities that contribute to Australian agriculture. The information sheet defines the agriculture industry as: sheep, beef cattle and grain farming; fruit and tree nut growing; dairy cattle farming; mushroom and vegetable growing; nursery and floriculture production; other crop growing; poultry farming; deer farming; and other livestock farming.

Statistics and information are provided about: Australia's agricultural employees; income and work status; education; Indigenous agricultural employees; people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds in the agriculture industry; women in the agriculture industry; and young people in the agriculture industry.
