This report is based on an expert meeting held at the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education in 2002. The meeting was attended by representatives from various organisations such as the International Labour Organisation (ILO), United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), UNEVOC-Canada and the World ORT [Obshestvo Remeslennogo Truda, translated as the Society for Handicraft Labour]. Participants discussed technical and vocational education and training (TVET) training needs in the 21st century in relation to the world economy and the labour market, the role of information and communications technology (ICT) in the management and delivery of TVET, and national and international projects undertaken within the TVET area.
