This paper, from the CD-ROM proceedings of the Pathways 5 Conference, explores the design and development of a new training product for increasing employment and training opportunities for people with disabilities. The training product, Certificate I in Workplace Preparation and Practices, was developed by the Southbank Institute of TAFE. This paper examines issues currently affecting the learning experiences of people with disabilities, and outlines the design and development of the training product and its attempts to overcome these issues. The authors of the paper list the benefits of the training product to learners, registered training organisations and employers. The training product indicates the Queensland training system's efforts to improve all students' learning experiences.
