Getting into training: a report into current training issues in the caravan industry

In conjunction with Tourism Training Australia, the caravan industry has recently developed and endorsed an industry training package, and as part of efforts to promote training this report documents a project which looked at training issues, and specifically workplace communication issues accross the industry. Questionnaires were distributed to caravan parks in all States and Territories. All medium-large caravan manufacturers were sent questionnaires and follow-up interviews were conducted to pursue particular issues. Key industry representatives were also interviewed. The project found that there is a major need to expand knowledge within the caravan industry about training in general, and the Caravan Industry Training Package in particular. This report presents the responses to the questionnaires, and other findings, and makes a number of recommendations on developing and implementing a training strategy for the industry, and other strategies and plans.
