This workbook is one of a series developed by Kangan Batman TAFE in line with the National Competency Standards for Certificate II in Security (Guarding). It describes how to work as a team member in the security workplace. It aims to help learners to: - know their role in a team - build team skills - help team effectiveness - keep the team informed - give back up support to the team. For each of these areas, there are short explanatory notes then brief writing or discussion activities. Answers are provided for self-assessment tasks. This title is one of a set of resources that aim to improve literacy and language levels in the narrow context of a security guard in the workplace, rather than the broader context of the participants' lives. The resources include glossaries of specialist language, the modelling and practice of a range of work-based forms of reading and writing, and the language-based appendices eg. 'A list of past tense words'.
