This is the learner handbook for a full-day training program which aims to 'create an awareness and understanding of the diversity of Aboriginal people and their culture' (p.1). Apparently developed for workers in the health and community services industry, it contains notes for four training sessions on: - Aboriginal history - past government policies - Aboriginal issues in the learner's local area - the future and service provision for local communities. For each session, there are writing exercises (short answer questions, definitions, multiple choice questions), space for note taking, and excerpts on relevant issues. There is also a list of references and an annotated list of further reading materials. The handbook is accompanied by a trainer/mentor handbook.
