Designed to be used in conjunction with the core units of Certificate III in Business (Office Administration) of the Administration Training Package, this manual aims to firstly assist trainers or assessors to identify the language, literacy and numeracy (LL&N) requirements for trainees to achieve each element of competency. (When using this manual to identify LL&N requirments, it is necessary to refer to specific sections of the Training Package.) The manual also aims to assist in designing teaching strategies that will develop the LL&N skills required for active competence. The body of the manual lists, for each Core Unit, the element(s) of competency with their performance criteria, and for each element there is a trainer checklist of required knowledge with detailed suggested strategies for developing LL&N skills. At the end of the manual, three case studies are included to provide examples of how trainers/assessors have integrated training and used this manual to identify a plan for LL&N issues. There is also a list of useful resources and organisations.
