This kit aims to raise awareness about food safety, and the practices of maintenance contractors in food businesses. It promotes a collaborative approach between food businesses and maintenance contractors to ensure that a 'duty of care' is demonstrated, and that the chances of food contamination are reduced or eliminated. The kit includes: - a workbook, - an introductory sheet on the 6 food safety fact sheets, - a 'Written agreement', - a pocket booklet of key information about food safety practices, and - a video titled 'Trade secrets: contractors and food safety procedures' about good food safety practices for maintenance contractors. The workbook includes notes for both trainer and trainee and covers: - why food safety is an issue - how food becomes contaminated and how this can be prevented - good personal well-being and good housekeeping. Activities includes reading, writing and discussion exercises.
