This CD-ROM introduces users to the process of risk management. Its aim is to increase awareness of identifying and managing risks, with transfer to the work environment. The CD includes videos of workplace scenarios which highlight the process of managing risks and provides the basis for activities that the CD users can undertake. In the first part of the CD, much attention is given to the defining of risks and varying degrees of likelihood and consequence. Varied scenarios (non-workplace based) are used to exemplify this. Risk management is then defined as the systems set in place to alter behaviour and/or practice to recognise and avoid risk, through - identification - assessment - control. There are no instructional notes accompanying this CD, so it is difficult to glean much more information about the preferred target group, but it makes for some interesting learning activities that could be adapted in a variety of setting, (adult literacy reading and writing Level 4; CSWE or equivalent Level 2/3). What is impressive is the excellent instructional section on 'how to use this CD' which would translate to many other CD learner programs.
