This resource has been developed as a guide to assist workplace assessors in public safety agencies (police, fire and state emergency services) in designing and conducting workplace assessments. It contains guidelines and strategies for a range of assessment practices and will be particularly useful to workers/assessors new to their roles and responsibilities of workplace assessment. The site-specific case studies demonstrate inclusive assessment practices of workplace communication practice. Section headings include: - workplace communication, - cultural diversity, - guide to assessment strategies, - case studies and checklist for assessors. The document is one of a number of new resources that will support the implementation of the Public Safety Training Package. The strategies listed may have further application beyond public safety agencies.
