This kit contains the video titled 'Assessment that works', the teacher/trainer workbook titled 'Forging the links' (which comes as a PDF file) and the CD of the same title. It is intended to be appropriate for facilitated workshops, small groups or an individual working at his or her own pace. The workbook examines VET in Schools programs, the National Training Framework, and workplace communication and numeracy issues. It provides opportunities for teachers and trainers to build their knowledge, and introduces the 'National Reporting System' (NRS) as a mean of developing competency-based assessment tools. The video outlines the principles of competency-based training and assessment, and introduces the NRS. It shows teachers and workplace assessors applying the principles of flexible and valid and reliable assessment in a range of workplaces and learning contexts, while students put forward their assessment for VET in Schools programs. The video shows the application of these principles in a range of workplace and learning contexts, with the positive outcomes for students, teachers and employers. The CD (which works on both PC and Mac) contains the PDF file of the workbook, a copy of the NRS website and software programs of Acrobat Reader and Netscape.
