Designed for trainers and assessors working in the transport and distribution industries, this resource has been designed to assist them to address issues of language, literacy and numeracy (LL&N) as part of a holistic assessment process of workplace competence. Sections cover: - issues related to LL&N particularly in relation to transport and distribution (definitions of LL&N, identifying LL&N needs, importance of LL&N skills) - issues with LL&N in relation to assessment including a series of guidelines and strategies for designing and conducting holistic assessments - exemplars which draw out literacy, language and numeracy skills and show how these strategies can actually be applied in the workplace - checklists for assessors to use as an aid when designing, conducting and reviewing assessments - useful resources for assessors.
