School Leaver program: student intentions 2002 - destinations 2003 survey results

The School Leaver program is an initiative sponsored by the Department of Education and Training to ensure that students who do not return to school continue to have access to information on further education, training and employment options (including apprenticeships and traineeships). It is delivered in every region of Western Australia by 13 Joblink projects funded through the State Employment Assistance Strategy (SEAS). The program has two separate but linked stages: the intentions stage, which involves a survey of the employment, education and training intentions of Year 10, 11 and 12 students whilst they are in school and the destinations stage, which occurs early in the following year when intentions data is reconciled with actual destination data for these students. Those students who are known to have left school and who have not obtained a post-school placement are provided with information on further education, training and employment options (including apprenticeships and traineeships).
