Value for money: comparative returns on investment in education and training

This report draws on the findings from a statistical study of Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Census 1996 data. The study was based on the principles of human capital theory and aimed to provide one perspective on the benefits accruing from participation in education or training. The report applies these principles to measure the return on investment in vocational education and training (VET) and make comparisons with other forms of education such as a university degree.
