This report provides an analysis of the participation of women in vocational education and training (VET) in Victoria in 2000. The report focuses on regional Victoria and builds on the findings of 'Focus on women: an analysis of women in training from 1985-1999' (indexed at TD/VIC 69.04). In 2000 in Victoria, female enrolments made up only 40 per cent of all enrolments in TAFE Institutes and 44 per cent of all enrolments in private provider programs while they were 69 per cent of all enrolments in adult and community education (ACE) provided programs. In addition, women enrolled in VET were more likely to be older and undertaking fewer hours of training than men.
