This Curriculum Guide is for managers and teachers working in further education. The guide has been written to accompany Transforming lives, transforming communities: a conceptual framework for further education (Bradshaw, Delia, Adult, Community and Further Education Board, Victoria, Melbourne, 1999) and explains what the conceptual framework for further education is. It presents examples and case studies of how the framework has been used in workshops for professional development and in documenting curriculum. It also presents responses to the framework in the form of teachers voices and testimonies. Although the guide is written to accompany Transforming lives, transforming communities, it does not assume that you have read the document. A summary of the key points from Transforming lives, transforming communities is made throughout, in order to aid understanding of the Curriculum Guide. This Curriculum Guide shows how you can use the framework as a guide for (a) individual or group planning; (b) writing accredited and non-accredited curriculum documents; and (c) developing a coherent and integrated learning program.
