In 1977, Women’s Access Programs were run at Whitehorse Technical College, Box Hill, Victoria. These programs comprised a blend of information given on job hunting skills and aspects of returning to study with personal development and human relations training. In October and November 1978, the participants in these programs were surveyed by telephone and asked for background information about themselves, indications of their activities since participating in the program and their hopes for the future: 42 of the 47 women whose addresses were known were interviewed. the survey gives demographic details and other objective data about the participants and their plans, together with quotations from the women’s comments, subjective evaluation of their situations and recommendations for future programs. this report is a follow up of work described in ‘Noise of Dreams’, by Anita MacCallum and Don McKenzie.
