Review of the Commonwealth Adult Literacy Program: workplace projects, 1991 and 1992

This report examines the Commonwealth Adult Literacy Program. Providers and workers all benefited from these projects and although there were many teething problems, much was achieved. This report attempts to identify good practice in workplace literacy projects and to separate normal 'teething problems' from problems of inadequate coordination. After consultation with project officers, project managers and industry training personnel, the projects were reviewed and evaluated according to their type. Four major types of reports were identified: (1) program delivery; (2) curriculum resources; (3) surveys; (4) research. The recommendations concern better coordinated development of workplace literacy projects.
