The Victorian government's policy for vocational education and training is focused around the following themes; (1) ensuring the central role for industry in the planning and development of training; (2) creating a flexible and efficient State Training System; (3) supporting diversity in training; (4) increasing access to TAFE; (5) co-operating with the Commonwealth and other states and territories; and (6) ensuring young people have access to a range of pathways to higher education and training. This report gives an overview of the training system in Victoria and focuses on training priorities for 1994-1995. Also included are industry training priorities (broken down into industry sectors) for the State Training System for 1994-1995.
