The staff training and professional development framework project was commissioned by the Office of Training and Further Education in 1993 as one of five projects aimed at facilitating professional development within TAFE and promoting closer relations between TAFE and industry. This paper proposes a staff training and professional development policy comprising a set of principles, a framework and recommendations for management and implementation. The framework addresses the learning needs of staff from entry level to TAFE through to ongoing professional development.
