Enhancing women's access to TAFE: strategies and resources for vocational counselling

This manual is written in response to an identified need to strengthen and improve the delivery of vocational information to women in the context of a changing labour market and training system. The purpose of the manual was to improve the effectiveness of vocational counselling to women wishing to access TAFE and targets specifically, women retrenchees and long term unemployed women, women from non English speaking backgrounds, women with disabilities and Koori women. The project also hoped to provide resources and strategies to increase vocational counsellors' effectiveness in working with women wishing to access TAFE and provide vocational information in the context of the national training agenda and regional industry, employment and training profiles.
