The purpose of this report is to document the business activities of Victorian TAFE institutions. It represents the first phase of the College Management Information Systems Specification project. This Business Context Analysis studied ten Tafe colleges varying in geographic location, size and profile. The study focused on the business environment of each college including an understanding of the role of the college in light of current state training objectives, and understanding of the business activities or operations a college must perform to meet the objectives and determining the major information categories needed to support the business.
