The Australian Education Council and the Ministers for Vocational Education, Employment and Training have established a Working Party to develop a proposal for a National Qualifications Framework. The Framework comprises a statement of levels, nomenclature and descriptors for qualifications. This draft-for-discussion paper is the basis for consultation with interested parties. It is hoped that a new National Qualifications Framework reflects developments in post-compulsory education and training and enables maximum flexibility in pathways between these sectors.
