The main source for this book is the conference proceedings of seven International Transformative Learning Conferences held between 1998 and 2007, along with a review of published journal articles on fostering transformative learning. Transformative learning is an approach to teaching based on promoting change. It has become the dominant teaching paradigm discussed within the field of adult education, and research about transformative learning continues to grow. Many questions remain unanswered and this book attempts to exemplify the practice of transformative learning and its application within varied educational settings.
