This report summarises the findings of a review into the level of literacy, language and numeracy [LLN] in employer funded training in workplaces in New Zealand in 2008. The purpose of this review was to find out more about the types of LLN training employers were undertaking, without the support of government funding. The review includes two small surveys which show that very little is happening in companies. What is happening includes formal LLN teaching programmes, encouraging company tutors to undertake qualifications in adult literacy, and revisions of company documents to make them more accessible for staff.
