This series describes very briefly the education systems in each of 31 European countries, from pre-primary level to higher education. Regularly updated, it also provides information on ongoing reforms and debate in the field of education. The general structure of each national description is similar to allow for easy comparison. Part one, 'Description of education system' describes: education population and language of instruction; administrative control and extent of public-sector funded education; pre-primary education; compulsory education; upper secondary and post-secondary education; higher education; special needs; and teachers. Part two, 'Ongoing reforms and topics of debate in education'.
