Vocational and technical education [VTE] have become a priority in the Jordanian education system. In the United States (US), the concept of career and technical education (CTE) began in the 19th century with the demand for growth in and development of the US workforce. This is followed by a description of the current preparation of vocational/technical teachers (VTTs) and future challenges in vocational education and training and an empirical perspective of VTE in Jordan.
