This article looks at the skills that are necessary if the UK is to make the transition to a low-carbon economy. The author suggests that there is not only the challenge of greatly reducing emissions, but a large skills gap in terms of people who understand how to build using low impact techniques, install and maintain renewable energy systems and produce food with minimal energy and chemical inputs.
