Implementation of Education for All (EFA) programmes: a case study of Indonesia

This paper reviews the implementation of Education for All (EFA) programs in Indonesia. It reports that: the early childhood education program has progressed well; the compulsory basic education program has become very successful; a program has been introduced to combat illiteracy; life skills classes are being implemented both in school and in communities; significant progress has been made on gender equality in education; and national standards for education are being developed.
