This chapter looks at resistance to the promotion of sustainable development, which may be based on ideological grounds, on theories of economic development, in beliefs in future innovations in natural resource development, and in greed and protection of privilege. Finally, it is suggested that one of the most critical activities now is to develop an educational vision that values the future as well as the present and leads to sustainable education, and to promote that vision across borders and generations.
