This strategic audit of the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment was undertaken as part of the Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB) commitment to the continuous improvement of the quality of training delivery in New South Wales (NSW) and in response to a number of concerns raised by stakeholders in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. The audit aimed to assemble a broad picture of the issues faced by registered training organisations (RTOs) in the training and assessment area and what strategies they had developed to manage the implementation of the TAA40104 qualification. The audit involved a number of phases including: the completion and analysis of an online RTO survey; determination of an audit sample; conduct of site audits; and preparation of this report. The audit identified areas of good practice as well as issues that need to be addressed through the continuous improvement process, which is an integral part of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) 2007.
