This new research report argues that teaching and learning should regain its rightful place as the main focus of the post-compulsory education sector. [The author] was asked to explore what might happen if teaching and learning became the number one priority in the sector, as opposed to government priorities and targets with the result being an independent and inspiring report that explores the most up-to-date research in the UK. Through challenging some aspects of current practice, the report offers options that may be more effective as well as using engaging activities to help readers involve themselves in the debates.
