This Scan captures and analyses industry intelligence identifying emerging skill and training requirements across the transport and logistics industry. One of the key objectives of the Scan is to create a resource that can be used to advise Skills Australia and Government more broadly on the industry's workforce development needs. It will provide a framework for the continuous improvement of training packages and a way in which work priorities can be established in the Skills Council's annual business plan. This Environmental Scan is the result of significant industry and key stakeholder input. It represents contemporary industry positions on training and labour demands. It aims to consolidate industry views on training and workforce development needs, adds to the overall body of industry intelligence, and avoid duplicating information that exists elsewhere. The contents of this document include an overview of the latest intelligence collated; identified workforce development needs; current impact of training packages; and future directions for Transport and Logistics Training Packages.
