The major issues that arose during the consultations have shaped the goals of the Community Learning Strategy: Goal 1 Proud to be Learning - promote learning as a social activity that has personal, social, community, economic and environmental benefits; Goal 2 Learning through Living - improve the general wellbeing of each individual through a lifetime of learning; Goal 3 Learning and Growing Together - offer learning opportunities in all communities so that the whole State becomes a network of learning communities; and Goal 4 Prospering through Learning - foster learning in organisations, workplaces and industry. In this document the Training and Skills Commission presents new directions for supporting the development of a learning culture in South Australia. It aims to do this by: (1) expanding the range of learning opportunities that are available in the community, and (2) increasing the number of people participating in them.
