This paper focuses on research underpinning the strategy and planning for uptake of capability for teachers in TAFE and considers the major blocks and enablers arising from this area. The paper considers the experience of teachers at the Gordon Institute of TAFE in developing and utilising a strategic online communication and learning support system. This project was a catalyst for a deep cultural change in provision of learning and teaching for the diverse range of clients serviced by the Institute and enabled the development of alternatives in meeting student needs. The report will focus on the research messages and how they were incorporated into the plan and its outcomes.
