Organisation planning and performance integration in a TAFE context

This presentation provides an overview of research undertaken as a change management strategy to assist two TAFE Institutes to address and improve their planning culture. During the presentation, I will outline the principles and processes which emerged from the research cycles to support the key findings of plan, implement and embed. Action learning, action research methodology was used to engage staff to reflect, review, investigate, discover and implement new ways of operating. The project utilised a project management approach as it sought to manage the diverse initiatives and actions which were planned and emerged during the research. Continuous improvement cycles of plan, act, review and improve were consistent underlying assumptions and actions throughout the research process. The primary premise continued to be one of working with staff to assist in discovering solutions, testing and embedding the 'best fit' for the organisations and their practices. The project was an intervention in an organisation's development at a point in time, with varying degrees of engagement where a diverse range of development and learning took place.
