This article explores whether a professional development web log could support work-based learning in a TAFE library. It includes a literature review and an evaluation of a weblog project devised to support professional development in the library at Box Hill Institute. Analysis of the literature suggested that there were educational aspects of weblogging that support some of the trends and learning outcomes of work-based learning in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. Findings reported include that staff involved in the weblog project felt that they had developed professionally, and that there is potential for further professional development in the areas of archiving and reflective practice.
