Creating a learning community: a CBI review of education business links

This document acknowledges the importance of education business links in contributing to the building of skills amongst young people. It incorporates the research carried out for the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) by the London School of Economics and investigates the progress of links. It then makes recommendations on the next stage in their development in order to maximise this progress. Twenty one recommendations are made, grouped into four parts: (1) Recommendations to employers; (2) Recommendations to Education Business Partnerships (EBPs) and Training and Enterprise Councils/Local Enterprise Companies (TECs/LECs); (3) Recommendations to education interests; and (4) Recommendations addressed principally to Government.
