Adults learning, vol. 18, no. 7, March 2007

The focus of this issue is on e-learning and it contains: 'The future of e-learning' by Alan Clarke (pp.14-15) which considers the potential benefits of e-learning; 'Making the case for e-learning' (pp.16-19) which contains individual pieces on the benefits of e-learning for specialised groups of learners and institutions. This issue also contains: 'Doing the wrong thing righter' by Richard Hooper (pp.20-22) in which the author argues that a skills strategy needs to be integrated within a broader learning-for-life vision; 'We need a joined-up system' by Sue Meyer (pp.26-27) in which the author says that a demand-led system of education and training that is called for in the Leitch review (indexed at TD/IRD 88.157), won't work without a strategy that includes those who currently 'don't demand'. Other articles in this issue are: Adult education and the home front / Michael Newman (pp.8-11); Widening participation: what works? / Stephen Gorrard (pp.12-13).
