Career development can be facilitated using a number of different methods ranging from professional development to organization development. Career and Technical Education (CTE) professionals have recognized Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) as having a vital role in student career development as well as in the education system. These organizations assist members in developing academic and career/ employability skills through involvement in activities. However, there is limited research on this topic leading several scholars to question the value of these organizations. This literature review specifically examines past and present research on the contributions of Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) as it relates to career and occupational development in students.
