This paper looks at the role vocational education can play in achieving the ideals of a diverse society. Contemporary instructional programs must take an inclusive approach to recruiting and retaining minorities, women, immigrants, disadvantaged people and students with special needs. The focus must be on the vocational teacher and innovative instructional approaches. The publication suggests descriptors used in the ERIC database which could be used to retrieve information on diversity in vocational education.
