This report considers the workplace learning of teachers and its effect on the quality of teaching in Australian schools. Research data was collected via a questionnaire completed by teachers in small, medium and large size government and non-government schools in South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria. The importance of workplace learning was universally acknowledged by the teachers. Other conclusions include that workplace learning is important, on-going, usually self-directed and evaluated, and influences teachers’ beliefs. Six recommendations are given.
