New Apprenticehips is a key initiative of the Commonwealth Government, designed to deregulate and streamline existing training arrangements to enhance worker skills. The Ministerial Council of Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs Vocational Education and Employment and Training Women's Taskforce (MCEETYA VEET Womens Taskforce) argues that women continue to benefit less than men from such training, and that a range of equity issues must be addressed at all stages of the development of New Apprenticeships to improve and expand opportunities for women.
