'Opportunities for women' courses aim to increase the confidence of participants and to examine ways of achieving their personal objectives in life. The courses are offered at five South Australian Department of Further Education colleges in the Adelaide metropolitan area. This study investigates five questions in relation to people participating in the 'Opportunities for women' courses. Who are the current participants in these courses? Why do the participants enrol in these courses? What other groups in the community could benefit from the courses? How did the participants find out about these courses? What other types of courses would they like to participate in? The intention is to provide a descriptive background from which to identify more specific areas for further investigation.
