Adults - their educational experience and needs: the report of a national survey

This report presents and analyses the findings of a national survey commissioned by the Advisory Council for Adult and Continuing Education (ACACE) to fill out the gaps in knowledge and to provide a base of data upon which to plan the extension of educational opportunities for adults throughout their lives. The objects within this broad aim are: (1) to describe the full extent of adult experience, past and present, in formal and nonformal education; and (2) to describe people's interests, needs and motives in undertaking education and training both formal and nonformal.
